Trump: Iran's oil pipelines may explode within days

ALBAWABA - Citing growing pressure brought on by Iran's limited storage capacity for its oil output, U.S. President Donald Trump issued a warning that the country might face a serious danger of oil pipeline explosions within days.

The warning coincides with ongoing disruptions to Iranian oil shipments brought on by limitations related to tensions in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has been obliged to stockpile surplus oil domestically due to limited exports, which has resulted in what Trump called hazardous circumstances inside its pipeline system.

In an interview with Fox News, Trump warned that the situation may swiftly worsen and that it would be hard to undo any pipeline damage.

A diplomatic opening

Trump said that diplomatic avenues are still open despite the increased language, stating that Iran may still interact with the US if it wants to negotiate a resolution to the current tensions.

He expressed optimism that Iran's leadership will make sensible choices going ahead, adding that although some Iranian officials have been "reasonable" in previous encounters, others have not.

The comments coincide with the ongoing tension between Washington and Tehran as both countries consider diplomatic and escalation options.
