ALBAWABA - U.S. President Donald Trump gave a blunt warning to Republicans, saying that he will be impeached and they will ‘lose everything’ if Democrats win the U.S. midterm elections.
Trump is starting to feel the pressure of the midterm elections as the prospect of not being able to force legislation and battling an unfriendly Congress inches closer and closer.
While campaigning for Darline Graham in South Carolina, Trump let audiences know of his impeachment worries, saying: “I’m going to be impeached. They’re going to impeach me. They have no idea why,”
“If we lose, you’re going to lose your border, you’re going to lose your tax cuts, you’re going to lose everything that we’ve done,” he said.
“We’ve got the biggest tax cuts in history. Think about no tax on tips, no tax on social security for our seniors, no tax on overtime. All of that’s going to be gone.
“Your taxes are going to go up. Your pay is going to go down. Your jobs are going to be lost. They’re going to end up closing up. Your businesses are going to flee.”
The Democrats look favorably to win back control of the House of Representatives with some favoring them to win back the Senate as well.
The impeachment, if attempted, would be the third time Democrats try to impeach the two-time U.S. President, showing how deeply unpopular he is across the aisle.
During his campaigning, Trump urged Republicans to turn out for Republican candidates, not just for him, saying:
“They say ‘Trump does great when he’s on the ballot, but when he’s not on the ballot, his people don’t come,’” he said. “So what I really want you to do is pretend, please, that I’m on the ballot. Just come and vote.”
