The 51-year-old diplomat, a repeat appointee under President Donald Trump, openly flaunted his relationship with the 30-year-old model and entrepreneur on Monday during a luxury getaway in Portofino. Public sightings of the couple lounging poolside and sharing an outdoor meal have raised eyebrows in both political and high-society circles, bringing renewed attention to what sources describe as Giordano’s jet-setting playboy lifestyle. Three insiders report that Giordano has long cultivated a flirty, bachelor persona, frequently splitting his time between elite social circles in Miami, New York City, and the Hamptons, where he is known to socialize with the Greek billionaire Catsimatidis family. However, sources close to the situation reveal that behind the glamorous Italian backdrop lies a historically turbulent relationship. According to two sources familiar with the couple's dynamic, Giordano is reportedly in a rush to get married, but frequently disrupts his relationship with Swarup to pursue other potential romantic opportunities. The sources tell the Daily Mail that Giordano would often leave his on-and-off model girlfriend to pursue outings with other women. ‘He would bring this one girl to Mar-a-Lago, and he would be with his girlfriend, and then would just leave the girlfriend to go hang out with this girl,’ one source with direct knowledge said of his closed-door antics. Since, they have been spotted everywhere from Sardinia, France and the Italian Riviera.  Swarup last posted a photo of the two of them back on April 12 at the Vatican.  Swarup, a Columbia University graduate, is a successful global model who serves as an ambassador for the charity Operation Smile and is the founder of the skincare line Prakti. Giordano, a lawyer by trade, previously served as deputy general counsel for Trump’s 2016 transition team and as an American representative to the United Nations General Assembly. He briefly held the position of US Attorney for the District of New Jersey for three weeks in March 2025 before being appointed as Ambassador to Namibia later that year. Prior to his relationship with Swarup, Giordano was married to Yasmina Marcelle Moukarzel, an heiress whose family owns a prominent wheat production company in Ghana. The former couple originally met in 2014 at the Pennsylvania Ballet Gala and wed in September 2017 during a high-society ceremony at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Philadelphia. The US Embassy in Namibia and the State Department did not immediately respond to requests for comment regarding Giordano's divorce or his absence from his diplomatic post.
