Travellers pitch up on land next to working men's club in family neighbourhood
المصدر: GB News | Source: GB NewsA traveller encampment of around five to seven caravans has pitched up on The Drive in Northampton, situated adjacent to St Crispin's Park and behind St Crispin's Working Men's Club.
The location serves as both a public road and footpath in the neighbourhood.
West Northamptonshire Council has acknowledged the presence of the group, with officials from its Traveller Unit now examining the circumstances.
A WNC spokesman stated: "We are aware of the encampment. Colleagues from the WNC Northamptonshire Traveller Unit are assessing the situation in line with established processes.

This development follows shortly after another traveller group departed from West Hunsbury, where around five caravans had positioned themselves in a secluded area off Ladybridge Drive, concealed by bushes near Ladybridge Park.
Conservative councillor Pinder Chauhan, representing Hunsbury ward, confirmed Northamptonshire Police issued notice to that encampment on Thursday afternoon, June 11, after the countywide travellers unit compiled a detailed report.
Councillor Chauhan said: "A big thank you to the countywide travellers unit for putting together a comprehensive report, helping Northamptonshire Police to serve notice to the encampment on Thursday afternoon (June 11)."

He added: "The travellers will have moved on by Thursday."
The Hunsbury ward councillor indicated he would be consulting with officers to examine potential weak points across the area that could attract similar unauthorised settlements in future.
Councillor Chauhan said: "I will also be meeting up with officers to look at any vulnerable areas which could lead to future encampments in the Hunsbury Ward to these open areas."
He had previously remained silent on social media regarding the West Hunsbury situation until formal notices had been served, explaining he could only provide updates once the legal process was underway.
