Hundreds of holidaymakers were seen being ushered out of the building this evening as specialist bomb squads arrived to investigate.  Police were called at around 6.50pm on Friday and enquiries into the incident are continuing. Inbound flights are said to be facing disruption, with some aircraft reportedly being diverted to other airports.  The airport has advised passengers to check ahead with their airline for the latest information. Bus firm Citylink has also confirmed that it has suspended services to and from the main terminal. In a statement, Citylink said: 'Due to the ongoing incident at Edinburgh Airport all of our services will be terminating at the Moxi hotel bus stop and picking up from the Hilton bus stop until further notice.' Lothian Buses have also warned of service disruptions.  A message from Lothian Buses reads: 'Due to a road closure buses are unable to serve Eastfield Road and Edinburgh Airport and are instead terminating at Ingliston Park & Ride until further notice.'  A Police Scotland spokesperson said: 'Edinburgh airport has been evacuated as a precaution following a report of a potentially suspicious package, reported around 6.50pm on Friday, 19 June, 2026. 'Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) are in attendance and a cordon is in place around the airport with roads closed. 'Enquiries are ongoing and members of the public are advised to check ahead and contact their airline for updates.'
