Tragedy after woman paid doctor $2,000 for 'clarity' ceremony that saw her take cocktail of ketamine and MDMA

By LAUREN ACTON-TAYLOR, US NEWS REPORTER Published: 06:44, 15 July 2026 | Updated: 06:51, 15 July 2026 A family from New York were left devastated after a woman was found dead in a wellness house in Miami, as a doctor has been accused of feeding her drugs as part of a 'heart protocol' ceremony.  Tina Sodhi was found dead in February 2025 after travelling to Sabia Wellness House, where she was given a cocktail of Ketamine, MDMA and DMT as part of a $2,000 treatment.  More than a year later, Samuel Lee, 44, has been charged with manslaughter over the so-called 'heart protocol' ceremony that led to Sodhi's death. He was arraigned on Tuesday. Lee, a medical doctor certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, touted himself as a 'holistic, integrative psychiatrist who uses a spiritual approach towards mental health,' NBC News reported.  As emergency responders arrived to the wellness center on February 10 last year, they discovered Lee attempting to give Sodhi CPR after she was discovered in a sauna.  She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the warrant obtained by the outlet.  Lee told an officer on scene that he was a licensed doctor and 'elder' of the Eternal Life Tribe and had performed a 'heart protocol' treatment on Sodhi.  He described the ceremony as a 'sacred sacrament of the church and not performed under his medical license,' the outlet reported.  Tina Sodhi was found dead in February 2025 after travelling to Sabia Wellness House, where she was given a cocktail of Ketamine, MDMA and DMT as part of a $2,000 treatment More than a year later, Samuel Lee, 44, has been charged with manslaughter over the so-called 'heart protocol' ceremony that led to Sodhi's death. The messages also revealed a receipt for $2,000 for the treatment, according to the warrant.  Days before she died, Lee had sent her a video explaining the 'ketamine treatments have a novel "ceremonial aspect" and a "clarogenic" rather than hallucinogenic impact due to the clarity that they bring,' the warrant said.  He noted the use of GABA supplements intended to 'relax the brain,' as well as three doses of 'heart medicine' to increase serotonin and dopamine production and 'open the heart,' the outlet reported.  Lee also detailed an intramuscular injection of ketamine once the 'heart medicine is peaking,' according to the warrant.  He claimed that a four to six hour session would include relief from depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, addiction and stress-related past traumas, the warrant continued.  She had also been given instructions to complete a gastrointestinal/parasite cleanse ahead of the ceremony, and was told that a 'clean gut' would equal a 'potentially deeper ceremony,' the outlet reported.   Sodhi had signed a waiver for the ceremony which stated that her participation was voluntary and acknowledged the potential side effects and risks of 'plant-based and Western psychedelic formulations,' the warrant said. This was a tragic accident and her presence will forever be missed. We continue to believe in the power of other safe and proven therapies alternative to and in conjunction with western medicine.' Lee's medical license was suspended temporarily by the Texas Medical Board following Sodhi's death. In Florida, his medical license is expired and delinquent, the outlet reported.   Sodhi has been mourned by her family, friends and community since her passing.  'My dearest friend, Tina Sodhi, passed away unexpectedly last week, and no words can truly capture the depth of this loss,' one friend wrote on Instagram.  'Tina lived with intention and purpose, driven by an unwavering desire to help others. She dedicated her time, including holidays, to volunteering in underserved communities and built a career around teaching breathwork and meditation, hoping to bring relief to those wracked by stress.' They described Sodhi as a 'radiant light in this world' and said her ;life 'changed for the better through knowing her.'  'Tina was the definition of a devoted daughter, loving sister, a cherished aunt and an “auntie” to so many of her friends’ children. She loved deeply and was adored by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her,' they continued. 'She embraced life fully and always chose to see the good in people. She always made a conscious effort to ensure that those in her presence felt seen and included. Tina lit up every room from the moment she walked in. She was one of a kind.' A friend described Sodhi as a 'radiant light in this world' and said her ;life 'changed for the better through knowing her' Sodhi was the founder of Art of Breath, a yoga teacher as well as a finance professional and posted  about spirituality, as well as her time volunteering and spending time with friends Sodhi was also described as a 'lovely, talented, visionary and kind person' as well as a 'beautiful soul' with a 'beautiful smile' Sodhi was the founder of Art of Breath, a yoga teacher as well as a finance professional, according to her social media.  She posted frequently championing spirituality, as well as her time volunteering, her trip to Lhasa-Base Camp Everest Mt. Kailash and spending time with beloved friends.  Another friend wrote: 'A friend in adventure, spirituality, growth, life appreciation, laughter and breathing through “letting things go…” your void is felt. Thank you for being there for me as I jumped into the unknown in Dec 2003. Your energy will keep vibrating for all of us.' One described Sodhi as 'generous, kind, fun and always ready to offer a lending hand.' 'Tina was amazing, smart, kind and so much more. I am very thankful for having known her. May her bright spirit continue to live strong,' a friend wrote on her obituary.  'Tina - you will be missed by so many, especially by me. You always reached out to get together when you were in town and followed through. The annual meeting circuit won't be the same without you. You were a true friend, a consummate professional, a kind soul and a person who sought peace from within. Rest in peace my dear friend,' another wrote.  Sodhi was also described as a 'lovely, talented, visionary and kind person' as well as a 'beautiful soul' with a 'beautiful smile.'
