Top Air Force Officer Ayman Yasmina Arrested After Years of Allegations

Private sources have confirmed the arrest of Pilot Major General Ayman Hussein Yasmina, one of the senior officers of the Syrian Air Force during the era of the former regime.

According to these sources, Yasmina’s name was tied throughout the war years to several sensitive military missions at strategic locations. He oversaw the airport of the 29th Brigade near Damascus International Airport and carried out logistical and operational tasks that included transporting equipment and personnel across active fronts.

Documents and leaks previously published by Zaman Al-Wasl identify Yasmina as the commander of the 29th Transport Brigade. His name appeared in internal Air Force rosters with references to his responsibilities in military air transport throughout the conflict.

Additional information indicates that he was later promoted to the rank of Major General. His name was linked to the movement of ammunition and military personnel between Syrian airbases, according to non-judicial files released by the same outlet.
