Antonio Vergara, Pio Esposito and Adrien Rabiot have been rated as the best-performing players in Serie A across the first weekend of 2026-27 action by media outlets in Italy. Check out the top 10 standout performers from Saturday and Sunday’s matches below!
The first eight matches of the 2026-27 Serie A season were played on Saturday and Sunday evenings. Bologna vs. Lazio will be played at 17.30 BST on Monday evening and Roma vs. Fiorentina at 19.45 BST. Check back in to see the updated list in full on Tuesday.
Reigning champions Inter started their title defence with a statement 4-1 victory over Monza in San Siro on Friday evening thanks to goals from Hakan Calhanoglu, Piotr Zielinski, Esposito and Yann Bisseck. Both Esposito and Calhanoglu feature in the list of top 10 individual performances by their average rating in the Italian press, although there were also solid performances from Bisseck and Andy Diouf as well.

Napoli left it late to claim a 2-0 victory away against Genoa in their first Serie A match under new head coach Massimiliano Allegri. Both of their goalscorers, Vergara and Kevin De Bruyne feature in the top 10 highest-rated players this weekend.
The top three is completed by Milan’s Adrien Rabiot, who came off th ebench and helped change the game in an eventual 2-1 victory away against Torino on Sunday evening. He and fellow goalscorer Alphadjo Cisse are both included on the list.
