Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes's nepo-baby daughter Suri makes her 'incredible' acting debut in front of just 33 people at Edinburgh Fringe Festival in queer adaptation of A Midsummer Night's Dream

But today Mission Impossible superstar Tom Cruise’s youngest daughter Suri Noelle made her British acting debut at Edinburgh’s Fringe festival in front of just 33 people. Suri, 20, whose mother is former Dawson’s Creek actress Katie Holmes, travelled from the US for the show which saw her take part in a queer adaptation of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream where she played four characters, Helena, a fairy called Mustardseed, a flute and a seed. One guest described her performance as ‘incredible,’ adding: ‘She genuinely stole the show, she was excellent.’ Top Gun star Cruise, 64, was notably absent as he has been estranged from his youngest daughter for over a decade after Ms Holmes, 47, ‘blindsided’ him with divorce in 2012. Suri has legally dropped her father's last name from Suri Cruise to Suri Noelle, taking her mother's middle name as her surname. She was met with a warm reception from audience members. Suri played the hyper-sexualised and lusted-over Helena in the play, even kissing her co-star Logan Yao who played Dimitri at the end of the show. Audiences were blown away by her 'flawless' performance with one declaring afterwards for a nepo-baby 'she proved us all wrong'.  Another told the Daily Mail: 'She threw herself into and completely stole the show. She can sing, she can dance and she is an incredible actress - all credit to her.'  Despite her famous parents, the pop-up venue on Edinburgh’s famous St Andrews Square, which has a capacity of 68, wasn’t even half full for the lunchtime performance. The show’s programme explained that the students were bringing their work to Scotland, as it is the birthplace of Andrew Carnegie, and were therefore ‘effectively returning the institution’s creative work to its origins while placing emerging artists on one of the world’s most prestigious international stages.’ Suri will be in the Scottish city for the production’s two-week run, but her name is not listed in the programme, no doubt to prevent drawing attention to her famous parents, as it was revealed last week she had legally changed her name from Cruise. Less than 20 minutes' walk through the festival grounds is a stand-up performance by the famed comedian, Olga Koch, titled Fat Tom Cruise. Since graduating from Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in 2024, Suri has always rejected her nepo-baby privileges despite following in her parents’ career footsteps. She lives in a standard college dorm room at Carnegie Mellon and moved into her campus housing with standard student lodgings alongside a roommate. On Wednesday Suri was spotted entering a three-hour dress rehearsal at the pop-up venue erected in St Andrew’s Square wearing a pillbox hat, yellow blouse, purple corset and skirt. There was much pressure riding on Suri’s performance as it comes after her fellow nepo-baby Apple Martin went viral after she made a surprise singing debut last year at Cannery Hall in Nashville, performing an unreleased track ‘Satellite’. The 22-year-old daughter of Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and actress Gwyneth Paltrow garnered much criticism for being allowed to sing alongside the indie band, Jade Street, at the venue despite her ‘lack of talent’. Apple, who was bombarded with accusations of nepotism, has now decided to try her hand at acting and will star in her first film, Paris Paramount, late next year opposite her mother’s friend Owen Wilson and Penelope Cruz.
