By TARYN KAUR PEDLER, FOREIGN NEWS REPORTER Published: 13:21, 4 May 2026 | Updated: 13:22, 4 May 2026 Three people, including a ten-year-old girl, have been killed after a monster truck ploughed into a crowd in Colombia. The devastating incident, which left more than 38 people injured, unfolded at around 5pm on Sunday in Popayan, in the Boulevard Rose area in the north of the city. Footage of the disaster shows a massive blue truck waiting at a start line as an announcer identifies the driver as Sonia, repeatedly shouting her name over the engine. The vehicle then surges forward towards a row of smashed cars laid out as obstacles in front of the crowd. Sonia drives the truck over the wreckage, sending the huge vehicle bouncing into the air as it crushes the cars underneath. But as the monster truck reaches the other side, it suddenly keeps going and accelerates towards spectators standing just beyond the safety barriers. Terrified fans can be seen scrambling to get away as the truck smashes through the barrier and ploughs into the crowd. The vehicle reportedly ran over several spectators before continuing on and crashing into a pole, causing sparks and cutting electricity in the area.
