It might only be August, but one high street supermarket is already embracing the Christmas spirit.
M&S have just dropped their annual festive baubles online — a series or ornate decorations celebrating some of the brand’s most iconic products.
Forget the golden star perched atop the tree. This year, devoted customers have the opportunity to hang baubles that truly reflect what’s in their hearts.
Because, let’s be honest, nothing quite says Christmas like a Glass Hanging Gingerbread & White Chocolate Cookie Ornament. Am I right?
What are the new M&S Christmas baubles?
Already listed as a #1 bestseller on the website, the M&S cookies ornament is £8.
But, if white chocolate isn’t your thing, there are plenty other decorations up for grabs.
For example, why not take home a Percy Pig Tree Topper for £10? Or, better yet, a two pack Glitter Glass Percy Pig pair — also for a tenner.
For die-hard chocolate fans, the glass Big Daddy bauble is £6.
And of course, the pièce de résistance: a Connie the Caterpillar Tree decoration for £8.
You hang Connie on your tree and the entire street will be jealous.
Despite the fact that the supermarket’s official online Christmas Shop hasn’t launch just yet, still marked as ‘coming soon’, you can buy all of the baubles on the regular site right now.
And what do people think of them…
While dozens of shoppers expressed their excitement at the launch, with one user confessing she ‘wants them all’, there were some Scrooges who aren’t too thrilled at M&S’s eagerness — with @cookinju calling it ‘absolutely ridiculous’.
Reacting to the drop on TikTok, @ChattyPatty wrote: ‘As cute as these are, can we please not! It’s still August!’ While @marie noted: ‘It’s just too early, I’m not thinking about Christmas yet’.
@SharonfromSouthend added: ‘Just no! It’s way too soon for the C word’.
Now, they do have a valid point.
It does feel as though brands release their Christmas stock earlier and earlier each year.
For example, with four months still to go, Terry’s Chocolate Orange has already rolled out two products for the festive season.
Just over a week ago, customers began spotting a massive 330g Chocolate Orange XL tablet on store shelves.
Feeling particularly generous, the brand also made the decision to re-launch the highly popular White Chocolate Orange.
That being said, the majority of customers appear totally content with busting out the Christmas spirit early.
@Jewels shared online: ‘The cookie one is the cutest thing ever! And yes I know it’s August, but I’m literally so excited for Christmas this year!’
‘I’ll be spending my pay check in the big M&S for this!’ @Wahumgoodie added.
Do you think it's too early for new Christmas products?

Yes! We're still in summer
-
No - what's the problem with getting excited?
