By CANDACE SUTTON, SENIOR NEWS REPORTER, AUSTRALIA Published: 08:09, 10 August 2026 | Updated: 08:11, 10 August 2026 Cassandra Lin has revealed a third tragic family death just six months after her meth addict celebrity dentist husband Steven Lin was shot dead by police while on an ice-fuelled rampage in Sydney. Ms Lin opened up only last month about enduring the 'nightmare' of losing her brother so soon after her husband's death. Christopher Jenkins, 40, died after routine surgery following complications from an elective ear, nose and throat operation. Now Ms Lin has revealed her beloved grandmother has also died - and that she hopes that her grandmother and brother will be 'reunited' in the afterlife.  'I lost my beautiful Nanna, Rhona Francis Jenkins,' Ms Lin wrote on Instagram.  'After losing my brother just a few weeks ago, I find comfort in imagining the two of them reunited. 'I hope they’re finding peace and comfort together as they begin this new journey.' Alongside photos of her '96 years young' grandmother, including images with her grandchildren, Ms Lin wrote that people said how much she took after Ms Jenkins. Cassandra Lin became a widow when her celebrity dentist husband Steve Lin was shot dead by police during a meth-fuelled rampage in Sydney after his life spiralled out of control Cassandra has just lost her grandmother Rhona Jenkins (above with a young relative) weeks after her brother died suddenly from complications following routine ENT surgery Cassandra Lin and her brother Christopher Jenkins, a champion bodybuilder who died suddenly in June while in hospital for surgery 'Many people say my entrepreneurial spirit came from her, and I couldn’t be prouder to carry a piece of her with me,' she said. 'I admired her deeply. I treasured her words of wisdom, her honest truths, her pep talks, and the way she always encouraged me to keep going.  'She wanted the very best for me, and I will miss her guidance more than words could ever express.' Rhona Jenkins appears to have had a major role in helping raise Ms Lin's five children, whom she was rearing as a single parent after her marriage collapsed in 2023.  The dental health professional ran the business with her husband until he fathered a child to another woman 'in secret', started using methamphetamine and stopped practising dentistry. After her brother's death, she revealed how much she had relied on her sibling as 'my protector, my safest place'. In a post on July 28 alongside footage from the funeral of her 'hero' brother - a two-time Mr Australia champion bodybuilder in the Super Heavyweight division - Ms Lin spoke of the trauma of his sudden death.  'You lost your life so tragically, so horrifically, in the place your loved ones go where you expect them to be cared for and to be kept alive,' she wrote. 'You didn’t deserve this. But I promise, I will not stop searching for answers.'  Cassandra Lin posted an open letter to her late husband in the weeks after his death, saying that their marriage had both joy and pain but that 'I promise I will take care of our children with everything I have' Alongside photos of her '96 years young' grandmother with family members, Cassandra Lin wrote that people said how much she took after her Ms Lin's seemingly perfect life began to fall apart long before her husband was killed in a stand-off with police while armed with a knife in an inner-Sydney apartment block on March 3. Lin had been a world-renowned Australian dental nutritionist and the author of the bestselling book, The Dental Diet, on the growing role of nutrition in oral healthcare.  He'd done TED Talks about the links between dental health and brain function and appeared on podcasts. He owned the thriving Helix Dentistry chain, which he ran with Cassandra at two locations on the NSW Central Coast.  The couple lived with their children in a $5million mansion, though he often flew to the US, where he starred as a specialist on TV talk shows. He was the model of a successful modern health professional at the top of his career until it all came crashing down.  In January last year, Ms Lin posted on Instagram that it had been 'two years since my whole world was turned upside down. 'It's been a journey that you couldn't make up,' she wrote.  'Each week, a new revelation, a new story, a new trauma, a new discovery of the depth and level of actions that there are just no words for - the betrayal, the abuse, the violence, the deception.'  Cassandra and Steven Lin in happier times before he became addicted to meth and his once highly successful life began to fall apart and ended when he was shot dead by police Steve Lin (above, ten months before his death) after he violently attacked a man with a metal pole and then buried himself in a backyard before he was found by police Days before his death earlier this year, Lin appeared in court accused of choking and assaulting a prostitute and stealing $2000 from her in March 2025, although the charges were dropped when the woman failed to appear.  In 2024, Lin had been found semi-naked, mumbling and sweating profusely behind Sweet Secrets, a brothel at Berkeley Vale on the NSW Central Coast.  The dentist had 'received services at the location and was believed to have left' the location around 10pm on a Friday. However, in the early hours of the next morning, Sweet's sex workers found Lin in the brothel's backyard and called police, who attended and observed that Lin 'was semi-clothed and in a dishevelled state (and) appeared to be affected by drugs'. They also observed that the oral health specialist 'placed what appeared to be faeces in his mouth'. In 2025, Lin recorded four breaches of bail, two assault offences and two choking offences. Prior to his death he had multiple AVO breaches and stalking and intimidation offences recorded. Ten months before his death, Lin violently attacked a man with a metal pole in Wollongong - where he had been living with his parents - and then buried himself in a backyard before he was found by police. Steve Lin is marched off by police who arrested him after he assaulted a man with a metal pole before trying to break into a house and then burying himself in dirt in a back yard Lin crept into an apartment block with a knife, stabbed a woman in the face, attacked another, and was Tasered before police were forced to shoot him dead (above, outside the crime scene) At about 10.50am on March 3 this year, he crept into an apartment block on the St Neot Avenue unit block at Potts Point, apparently looking for cash or valuables. He stabbed one woman in the face, and then forced his way into another woman's unit and attacked her before barricading himself inside. When police attended, one officer initially tried to Taser Lin, but he lunged at them with his knife and the other policeman was forced to fire a shot from his pistol. He could not be revived and died at the scene. In an open letter to her late husband weeks after his death, Ms Lin wrote of the joyful moments of their marriage and children, but also the 'pain of the affairs, the secrets, the abuse'. In the letter she admitted that she had loved him as well as having been betrayed by him and added: 'I promise I will take care of our children with everything I have.'
