The £2.2m Georgian country house wedding venue 'operating as an illegal weight loss jab drugs factory' where 12,000 doses were seized by investigators

By RORY TINGLE, HOME AFFAIRS CORRESPONDENT Published: 14:06, 9 July 2026 | Updated: 14:08, 9 July 2026 More than 12,000 doses of illegal weight-loss injections have been seized from a suspected black-market drugs factory in a £2.2million Georgian country house.  Moulton Grange in Northamptonshire was raided on May 28 as part of an ongoing investigation into unlicensed medicines.  Officers from the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) arrested two 29-year-old men, who were later released.  Boasting 28 acres of landscaped private grounds, Moulton Grange hosts luxury weddings and corporate events.  Online reviews describe it as 'the perfect venue' and 'simply magical', while one happy couple say it 'exceeded all our expectations'.  But it may be hiding a darker side, with the MHRA suspecting it was being used as a 'large-scale facility to manufacture, assemble, and distribute unlicensed weight loss medicines, including retatrutide and tirzepatide, as well as peptide products'. Tirzepatide is the active ingredient in Mounjaro, while retatrutide is an experimental treatment still undergoing clinical trials.  The MHRA described the raid as the UK's largest seizure of unlicensed weight-loss injections and said it was targeting an 'organised criminal group'.  Moulton Grange in Northamptonshire was raided on May 28 as part of an ongoing investigation into unlicensed medicines Boasting 28 acres of landscaped private grounds, Moulton Grange hosts luxury weddings and corporate events Pictures from the raid on Moulton Grange showed dozens of cardboard boxes and containers full of jabs scattered across cluttered rooms  It did not name Moulton Grange as the location of the raid but this was revealed by the BBC, which contacted the property's owners to ask if they knew of the alleged activity but did not receive a response.  The house is considered an 'outstanding' example of an English country house, featuring a grand Georgian facade and a sumptuous interior decked with chandeliers, period furnishings and ornate carved fireplaces.  Spanning 19,989 square feet, the house includes 12 bedrooms, eight bathrooms and a ballroom and a billiards room, as well as several reception rooms, a kitchen-breakfast room and staff accommodation.  Constructed mainly in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, the stately pile is Grade II-listed and was last sold for £2.2million in 2017, according to Land Registry records. The wider estate, located around seven miles north of Northampton near the village of Pitsford, has a lake, lawns, sheep pasture and a grotto.  The property is owned by Faiz Hameed, 61, and Rashda Hameed, 59, who are also directors of Moulton Grange Limited - a property management company. While counterfeit weight-loss drugs have been found before, investigators say the raids were the first time they had uncovered an operation producing drugs marketed under its own brand. The products were branded 'Alluvi', matching a trademark application filed in April 2026 by a firm based on an industrial estate in Northampton. Andy Morling, head of the MHRA's Criminal Enforcement Unit, said the packaging found in the manor house raid looked 'sophisticated' and 'authentic-looking'. He added: 'Medicines regulation isn't discretionary - it exists to protect people. 'That's why we continue to target the traffickers who seek to bypass that protection - taking down the infrastructure that supports them and creating a hostile environment for their exploitative and harmful trade. 'I'm confident that dismantling this illicit production facility will have prevented significant public harm.' The Mail has contacted Moulton Grange Limited for comment.
