You’ve probably seen electric toothbrush brand SURI all over your Instagram, and the viral brand has just launched a new design that caught our eye.
Most known for its SURI Pro 2.0 toothbrush that comes in a sustainable design with a B-Corp certification and a 34-day battery life, it’s earned a bit of a cult status. Metro’s Senior Commerce Writer is a big fan – you can find her full review here.

So when I spotted the new SURI Core 1.0 Electric Toothbrush, which has an impressive list of specifications but is only £65, I was intrigued. A few weeks ago, it landed on my desk, and I’ve been testing it out ever since.
Here’s everything you need to know about SURI’s latest launch.
What is the new toothbrush?
The SURI Core 1.0 is an electric toothbrush designed for ‘effortless everyday brushing’, so says the brand. It’s basically a simpler, but no less sleek, version compared to its premium 2.0 model.
Key features include a pressure sensor that alerts you if you’re brushing too hard, and a two-minute timer with 30-second interval buzzes to help you cover every inch of your teeth.
The battery life promises up to four weeks of use on a single charge, a quiet operating sound, with a built-in button lock for travelling without it buzzing away its battery mid-flight on your way to your holidays.
Each brush comes with a compact wireless charging pebble, magnetic mirror mount, and plant-based head cover. You can shop it in four colours: haze green, ember orange, nightfall blue and moonrise grey.
How is it different to the SURI Pro 2.0 Electric Toothbrush?
The main differences come down to materials, extras, and battery life rather than cleaning performance, which is very good on both. The 2.0 model delivers 30,000 sonic vibrations, compared to the 1.0’s 28,000, so there’s minimal difference.
The SURI 2.0 is built with an aluminium body, and comes with a slim UV light case which charges and cleans the toothbrush while on the go. Its battery life is slightly longer at 34 days per charge compared to the new 1.0 version, which is 28 days.
The newer, budget-friendly model doesn’t come with a case, but does have a head cover. In my opinion, it’s a pared-back version of an excellent electric toothbrush, but the huge price difference doesn’t leave you feeling shortchanged.
Is the new SURI 1.0 Electric Toothbrush worth it?
It depends. If you already own the 2.0 model, there’s no need to switch, but if you are looking to upgrade from a manual brush to an electric but want a more accessible price point, the SURI 1.0 is a worthwhile purchase. The built-in timer, pressure sensor and sonic cleaning are equally as good, and my mouth felt just as clean and sparkling.
Despite being £40 less, it still has the same sleek design in modern colours that isn’t bulky, ugly, or space-consuming; plus, you can buy the same replacement heads for both SURI models, with a pack of three costing £14.99 from SURI’s website.
The new launch offers the same sustainability approach: brush heads made from cornstarch with castor oil bristles, and you can send your used-up heads back to SURI for recycling using the compostable, postage-paid envelopes they supply.
