Published: 14:33, 18 April 2026 | Updated: 14:34, 18 April 2026 A British man accused of carrying out a 'pure evil' double murder in the United States grew up in a middle-class London household with a police officer father - before later becoming a US citizen and joining the Navy. Olaolukitan Adon Abel, 26, is accused of killing two women and critically injuring a homeless man in what police described as a series of 'completely random' attacks in Georgia. Authorities allege Adon Abel shot dead Prianna Weathers, 31, outside a restaurant in the early hours of Monday before opening fire on a 49-year-old homeless man who had been sleeping outside a supermarket. He is then accused of driving on and fatally stabbing and shooting Lauren Bullis, 40, as she walked her French bulldog. Officials branded the attacks motiveless and 'acts of pure evil'. The Daily Mail can reveal Adon Abel enjoyed a comfortable upbringing in north London before moving to the US in around 2019. The youngest of four children, he grew up in a £480,000 family home in Edgware, attended a local state comprehensive and served in the Army Cadet Force. As a teenager, he also competed in Muay Thai bouts, with footage posted online showing him fighting in ticketed contests, including one in Watford in 2014 in which he was knocked out. 'It's going to be an amazing show - top fighters in the UK. 'I've stepped up my training for this fight; expect a amazing performance from me and great fight against a skilled opponent.' Adon Abel, who was also a talented table tennis player, later moved to America, following in the footsteps of his father, Toyin Adon Abel, 67, who describes himself as a 'former British police officer and prison warden' who is now an 'author, artist and philanthropist'. His business analyst mother remains living in north London but declined to comment on her son's arrest when approached by the Daily Mail. After relocating to the US, Adon Abel enlisted in the US Navy in 2020 and is understood to have most recently served with Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron in California. His father posted proud photographs of his son in uniform on social media in 2021, writing: 'My precious son in whom I am well proud! Kiitan... newest graduate group in the United States Navy.' He left the military in disgrace after being convicted in 2024 to assaulting two police officers with a deadly weapon, and attacking another person, while stationed at Naval Base Coronado in California. Court records also show that in June last year he pleaded guilty to four misdemeanour counts of sexual battery after groping a woman in Chatham County, Georgia. She later died in hospital. Investigators allege Adon Abel then drove around 16 miles towards the town of Brookhaven, where he opened fire on a homeless man in what police described as a drive-by shooting. Brookhaven police chief Brandon Gurley said: 'What we know now is that this individual was asleep in the area of business and was shot multiple times by the suspect from his vehicle. 'It is apparent to us that it was a completely random attack on a member of our unhoused community.' Adon Abel is then alleged to have driven a further 15 miles in a rental car before stabbing and shooting Mrs Bullis, a Department of Homeland Security auditor, as she walked her dog. The Department of Homeland Security said Mrs Bullis 'approached her work with integrity, thoughtfulness and a commitment to excellence' and who 'brought warmth, kindness, and a genuine sense of care to her colleagues'. A keen traveller and marathon runner, Mrs Bullis had visited countries including Egypt, Greece, Spain, Ireland and France. Her family said she was a 'selfless, kind and compassionate' woman whose 'warmth and generosity touched everyone surrounding her'. US homeland security secretary Markwayne Mullin said Ms Bullis had been 'brutally' killed and described the attacks as 'acts of pure evil'. His brother Toyin Adon Abel Jr, 41, who lives in Atlanta, told US media that he did not want to talk about his brother but expressed sympathy for the victims. He is reported to have said: 'I feel terrible for the victims, their families and their connections. It's a horrible thing.' No comments have so far been submitted.
