Among the eye-catching events on the agenda are the conference finals in the NBA playoffs and the final day of the Premier League season.  Every blog has all the play-by-play thrills and spills, plus the latest news, analysis, reaction and more, so you won’t want to miss a moment of our extensive coverage. You can also share your views and predictions in the comments below. Your responses could be featured in coverage throughout the week, so feel free to get involved. You can also get in contact with the live team by emailing us at: live@theathletic.com Here is the full live schedule for the week of May 18-24. Premier League – Arsenal vs. Burnley  Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal side leads the Premier League table and victory against already-relegated Burnley could see them go five points clear of Manchester City, before Pep Guardiola’s men play the following day. NHL — Montreal Canadiens vs. Buffalo Sabres, Game 7 The Canadiens got to this point in the Stanley Cup playoffs by winning a thrilling Game 7 on the road against the Tampa Bay Lightning after losing Game 6 at home. They’ll have to repeat that feat against an upstart Sabres squad, for the right to face the Carolina Hurricanes in the Eastern Conference final. NBA — San Antonio Spurs vs. Oklahoma City Thunder, Game 1 Will this series mark the start of a new era in the NBA? The reigning champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder, and back-to-back NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander host Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs in the first game of the best-of-seven Western Conference finals. Premier League – Bournemouth vs. Manchester City, Chelsea vs. Tottenham The soccer continues as title-chasing Manchester City face a tough test in Bournemouth: Lose and Arsenal could be crowned champions. There is also a tasty London derby where Tottenham could secure their Premier League survival at bitter rivals and beaten FA Cup finalists, Chelsea. NBA — Cleveland Cavaliers vs. New York Knicks, Game 1 The New York Knicks, fresh off thrashing the Philadelphia 76ers in a 4-0 conference semifinals sweep, begin their Eastern Conference finals series with Game 1 against the Cleveland Cavaliers at Madison Square Garden. The Cavs won in seven at Detroit on Sunday night to reach this point in the NBA playoffs for the first time since 2018 — and the first time without LeBron James since 1992. NBA – Spurs vs. Thunder, Game 2 The first Spurs-Thunder playoff matchup in 10 years — since Tim Duncan and Kevin Durant were playing for those respective teams in 2016 — continues from Oklahoma City. NBA – Cavaliers vs. Knicks, Game 2 Jalen Brunson’s Knicks go up against Donovan Mitchell’s Cavaliers in the series’ second game in New York. World Cup — England’s squad announcement Manager Thomas Tuchel, below, will name his 26-player England squad for the FIFA World Cup, which starts in Canada, Mexico and the U.S. next month. Real Madrid’s Trent Alexander-Arnold is among those hoping to be included once the 55-strong long list has been whittled down. NBA — Thunder vs. Spurs, Game 3 The Western Conference finals series moves to San Antonio, Texas for the third installment of a highly anticipated matchup. UEFA Women’s Champions League final — Lyon vs. Barcelona Two of the most prestigious and storied clubs in the women’s game meet in Oslo, Norway for the biggest prize in European soccer. NBA — Knicks  vs. Cavaliers, Game 3 The battle for the Eastern Conference’s spot in the NBA Finals continues, as the series shifts from New York to Cleveland for Game 3. Premier League — Final day  The 2025-26 Premier League season concludes as with all 20 teams in action at the same time and the potential for title, European places and relegation issues going down to the wire. The second tennis major of the year begins on the red clay of Roland Garros, Paris as women’s singles champions Coco Gauff defends her title. Carlos Alcaraz’s defense is already over however, after a wrist injury forced him to withdraw from the men’s championship last month. The premier IndyCar Series event of the year returns to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, as superstar Álex Palou looks to defend his 2025 title. NBA — Thunder vs. Spurs, Game 4 Game 4 in the Western Conference finals could be the one that wraps up a sweep for the Thunder or the Spurs, which would have been a bold prediction at the start of the week.
