Terrifying moment shots ring out as screaming revellers run for their lives at Bank Holiday house party where teenage boy was stabbed to death

One girl films herself bucking the current of the panicked mob as she runs towards the scene, before she rapidly spins around and sprints in the opposite direction after hearing nearby gun shots.  Meanwhile, a separate clip captures an armed person dressed entirely in black clothing, seemingly wielding a large machete knife, as they run in the direction of the fleeing crowds. The video is backdropped by the heavy breathing of the girl who is filming.  Police were called to Towpath Walk in Hackney Wick at 7.17pm on Monday after reports of a large gathering, disorder and 'individuals in possession of machetes'.  The force said the chaos is believed to have begun during a house party taking place on the same road during the Bank Holiday weekend.  Officers found a teenage boy with stab wounds in Poplar Close, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Footage posted online show police in attendance and one officer chasing someone. Meanwhile hundreds of teenagers caused chaos in a 'linkup' as they descended on Southend Beach on Tuesday. The term refers to large groups of youngsters meeting up across the country. Two people were arrested as teenage mobs stole from shops and skirmished with police along the beachfront in Essex in the latest 'linkup', with trouble also spreading to Bournemouth beach. The gathering, advertised on social media as a 'music event' with posters showing a young man holding a zombie knife, is part of a series of chaotic 'linkups' across the country to mark the 36C half term heatwave. Around 300 youths assembled along the sea in Southend by the evening and fights broke out while police, some armed with guns, tried to disperse the crowds. Teenagers have increasingly been using AI to generate posters for their unofficial gatherings at parks and beaches across the UK. As the weather heats up, they advertise day parties and water fights with the temperature forecast included to entice people. However, some teens have complained there are too many AI posters being created, leaving them unsure of which events are real. Three separate posters shared on social media which are almost identical all show details of different 'parties' on May 25, 26 and 27 in Hackney, Southend and Ealing. A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: 'Police were called at 19:17hrs to reports of a large gathering, disorder and sightings of individuals in Towpath Walk, E9.  'The disorder is believed to have begun during a house party taking place on the same road. 'While officers were on their way to Towpath Walk, further reports were received about a stabbing and possible firearms discharges.  'Officers attended, along with the London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance, and found a teenage boy with stab wounds in Poplar Close. Despite the efforts of emergency services, he was pronounced dead at the scene. 'Officers are in the process of formally identifying the victim and informing his next-of-kin. 'A crime scene remains in place spanning Towpath Walk, Poplar Close and surrounding areas while officers carry out urgent enquiries.' Ben Massink, detective chief inspector of the Met's Specialist Crime command, said: 'Our thoughts remain with the victim and his family – we are working at pace to ensure all his loved ones are informed and offered specialist support from officers. 'For members of the local community, who will no doubt be shocked and saddened by the events of yesterday evening, increased police patrols are in place in the area. If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to speak with one of our officers. 'Urgent enquiries continue to establish exactly what happened. We know there were a significant number of people in the area at the time of the stabbing, and some individuals recorded the incident on their mobile phone. 'I would urge anyone who witnessed what happened or who has footage of the incident to come forward to police - your information could be vital. I would also ask those with videos or photographs not to post this on social media out of respect for the bereaved family.'
