Published: 01:21, 29 June 2026 | Updated: 01:25, 29 June 2026 Tense footage captured the moment a police officer shoved and swore at a homeless man during a heated exchange. Two officers were seen confronting the man on High Street in Penrith, western Sydney, at 4pm last Tuesday. The man held a can of Coca-Cola in one hand and a takeaway box in the other as he told one of the officers to 'get off my foot'. 'F***ing go, bro,' the officer responded. He was seen pushing the homeless man, knocking him off balance and causing him to drop his items. His female colleague chimed in: 'Get your things and leave now.'  The homeless man grabbed a trolley with his belongings, including groceries from Coles, and began to leave. 'Move out of the f***ing way,' he said. Dramatic footage has captured the moment a police officer shoved a homeless man during a heated exchange in front of bystanders  'Away you go,' the officer responded. The homeless man backed up against the door of Penrith Mall Medical Centre as the officer demanded his name.  Footage of the incident has been shared online, where social media users were quick to slam the officer. 'I hope this footage was taken straight to police and uploaded and sent to police command with a formal complaint,' one wrote. 'Poor guy most likely struggled to get that drink, this is so wrong!' a second wrote. 'Very unprofessional,' another added.  A NSW Police spokesman told Daily Mail it was aware of the altercation.  'The officers – who are attached to Police Transport Command North West – were on High Street for an unrelated matter when, about 4pm, they saw a man allegedly behaving aggressively towards members of the public before a business owner asked the man to leave,' he said.  The homeless man backed up against the door of Penrith Mall Medical Centre as the officer demanded his name 'The 47-year-old man was issued a move-on direction, which police allege he initially failed to comply with. 'Following a further interaction with police, the man complied with the move-on direction and no further police action was taken.' He said the footage had been reviewed by the Commander.    Federal Member for Lindsay Melissa McIntosh said on Sunday she would push for the matter to be reviewed.  'Many people have raised their concerns with me today about an incident involving a male police officer and a homeless man on High Street in Penrith,' she said. 'I will provide an update to those who have contacted my office through email as soon as a response is received. 'Thank you for looking out for each other. On a broader matter, there are too many people experiencing homelessness and doing it tough across our community.' No comments have so far been submitted.
