Teen shot twice while driving through Sydney streets in terrifying ambush

Police were called to Mimosa Street in Greenacre shortly before 9pm after neighbours reported hearing two gunshots. The teenager is understood to have been shot twice in the chest on nearby Banksia Street before he was driven to Mimosa Street, where emergency services found him and took him to hospital. He remains in a stable condition. The victim is reportedly known to associate with members of the Alameddine crime family. However, a police source told the Daily Telegraph it is not yet known whether that was the motive for the shooting or whether it was 'a totally unrelated dispute'. A Skoda SUV used to transport the injured man to Mimosa Street was seized for forensic examination, while its driver has been interviewed by detectives. Police have established crime scenes on both Banksia Street and Mimosa Street as investigations continue. The shooting came just hours before emergency services were called to Celia Street in Granville shortly after 3am on Friday following reports of a car fire.
