Teen arrested after two police officers rushed to hospital after 'hit and run'

A driver has been arrested after two police officers and a third man were taken to hospital following an alleged hit-and-run. Police approached the vehicle in Hamilton, Scotland , on Fleming Way at around 9.30am on Tuesday (April 28), when the driver allegedly left the scene, injuring one officer before it struck a stationary vehicle as it made off. The smash saw a 22-year-old male passenger and another police officer were injured. All three were hospitalised, though none of their injuries are believed to be life-threatening. An 18-year-old man has since been arrested in connection with the incident. He was also taken to hospital as a precaution. Fleming Way remains shut while collision investigators carry out their enquiries. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "As the car attempted to make off, one officer was injured. The car was then involved in a collision with a stationary vehicle a short distance away. "The 22-year-old male passenger and another officer were injured in the collision. The passenger and two officers were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. "The 18-year-old male driver left the scene and was later traced. He was arrested in connection with the incident and taken to hospital as a precaution. Fleming Way remains closed to allow for crash investigations."
