As of now, Tamil films are arriving on OTT platforms four weeks after their theatrical release. According to the statement issued by the Council, the theatre owners and distributors had announced the new condition without consulting the producers' associations. The two associations have also decided against providing advance payments for new films. The producers' bodies said they cannot accept decisions affecting producers being taken unilaterally by theatre owners and distributors.
