Sydney private schoolboy who organised for hit squad to shoot man in a luxury Bali villa is jailed for longer than gunman as appeal backfires

By CAITLIN POWELL - NEWS REPORTER Published: 08:12, 7 July 2026 | Updated: 08:15, 7 July 2026 A Sydney private schoolboy who organised the hit squad that shot dead a Melbourne man in his luxury Bali villa has been handed an even longer jail sentence than the two Australians who pulled the trigger.  Plumber Darcy Jenson, 28, didn't even step inside the holiday home in Munggu in June last year where Zivan Radmanovic, 32, was killed. Jenson organised the logistics for the group in the months before the attack, which was carried out by Mevlut Coskun, 23, and Paea I Middlemore Tupou, 27. The Indonesian Supreme Court ruled on July 3 that Jenson should serve the longest sentence - 18 years in prison.  Tupou was sentenced to 17 years imprisonment while Coskun will be jailed for 16 years. Neither will receive the death penalty. The trio's sentences were reviewed by the Supreme Court after they appealed the terms handed down by the High Court.  Jenson's legal team had been appealing a sentence of 17 years, arguing the High Court decision appeared to contain multiple serious errors.  Coskun and Tupou also appealed after they were each sentenced to 16 years by the High Court. Their lawyer, Rahul Singh, confirmed his team respects the Supreme Court panel's decision. However, they claimed they mistakenly shot dead Radmanovic after breaking into the villa on June 14 last year. They refused to name the Australian man who hired them. Ghanim was beaten and shot six times while Radmanovic was beaten with a sledgehammer before being fatally shot. Both men had links to Melbourne's underworld. The two men had been holidaying in Bali with their partners to celebrate the 30th birthday of Radmanovic's wife, Jazmyn Gourdeas. She hid under a blanket during the horrific ordeal. Coskun, Jenson and Tupou were arrested in the days after the shooting. Jenson, a graduate of St Patrick's College in Strathfield, reportedly flew to Bali from Australia a few days ahead of Sydney man Coskun and Melbourne-born Tupou, the Herald Sun reported. He completed his trade in 2020 but deregistered his business in March last year, just months before travelling to Bali.  He also played Australian rules football for the Parramatta Goannas before leaving the country to visit Bali. It is understood Jenson had not lived away from his parents' Sydney west home until his trip to Bali. The property was sold for $1.3million two weeks after he was arrested. Meanwhile, Tupou's family live in a brick veneer home in Ashburton, in Melbourne's east, about 2km from Chadstone Shopping Centre.
