düzenlediği OECD Kritik Mineraller Forumu'na katılmak için geldiği İstanbul'da AA'ya konuştu. Türkiye’yi ziyaret etmekten duyduğu memnuniyeti dile getiren Hureyf, "Suudi Arabistan ile Türkiye arasındaki ilişkiler, özellikle sanayi ve madencilik alanlarında seçkin ve stratejiktir." dedi. İkili işbirliği fırsatlarına değinen Bakan Hureyf, Türkiye'nin sanayi stratejisinde yer alan hedef sektörlerin neredeyse tamamında önemli imkanlara sahip olduğunu belirterek, "Türkiye ile demir yolu bağlantı projesi, bölgenin karşı karşıya olduğu zorlukların çözümü için rekabetçi bir alternatif olacaktır." diye konuştu. Ülkeler arasındaki işbirliğinin büyük önem taşıdığını vurgulayan Hureyf, şöyle devam etti: "Madencilik sektöründe büyük fırsatlar görüyoruz. Özellikle günümüz dünyası daha fazla madene acil ihtiyaç duyuyor. Bu madenlerin temininin sağlanması için ülkeler arasındaki işbirliği büyük önem taşıyor. Bu işbirliği, doğal kaynaklar, üretim ve bu madenlerin farklı ihtiyaçlar için teminini sağlayan ara sanayiler yoluyla gerçekleştirilebilir." Bölgede yaşanan zorlukların lojistik çözümlere bakış ile ulaşım ve ilgili hizmetlerin değerlendirilmesi açısından stratejik sonuçlarının olacağını dile getiren Hureyf, "Bu kriz sırasında (İran savaşı) yaşananların, daha önce Kovid-19 salgınında olduğu gibi bölgenin tamamı için büyük fırsatlar doğuracağından eminim. Nitekim o dönemde Suudi Arabistan, ilaç sanayi sektörünü ve kendi kendine yeterliliğini önemli ölçüde geliştirmeyi başardı." dedi. Sanayi sektörüne ilişkin değerlendirmelerde bulunan Hureyf, “Petrol dışı ihracat bizim için Suudi Arabistan Vizyonu 2030’un başarısının en önemli göstergelerinden biridir. Rakamlar, özellikle sanayi sektöründe atılan temellerin meyvelerini bugün ihracat yoluyla almaya başladığımızı ortaya koyuyor.” şeklinde konuştu. "İhracatın küresel pazarlara yönelik olması nedeniyle uluslararası düzeyde rekabet edebilecek ürünlere ihtiyaç duyulduğunu" kaydeden Hureyf, "Suudi Arabistan’ın sanayi stratejisinde büyük bir hedefi bulunuyor ve bu sayede hem yerel hem de uluslararası ölçekte önemli yatırımlar çekmeyi başardı. Genellikle dünyanın birden fazla bölgesinde faaliyet gösteren büyük şirketler, bugün Suudi Arabistan’ı yatırım için uygun bir yer olarak görüyor. Bu nedenle Suudi Arabistan’ın sürdürülebilir şekilde rekabet edebileceği ürünlere odaklandık." diye konuştu. Suudi Arabistan'daki madencilik sektörüne değinen Hureyf, "Madencilik, Suudi Arabistan Vizyonu 2030 kapsamında umut vadeden bir sektör haline geldi ve başlangıçta ciddi bir yatırım eksikliği çekiyordu." dedi. Doğal kaynakların birçok ülkede bulunduğunu ancak bunları işleyebilmek için uygun ekonomik altyapının önemini vurgulayan Hureyf, "Doğal kaynaklar birçok ülkede mevcut ancak yatırımlar, sistem ve mevzuat istikrarı ile teknolojiye sahip olmak, bu madenleri veya kaynakları sanayi sektörlerinde kullanılabilir hale getirmek için yeterli." ifadelerini kullandı. Hureyf, bu sektörü desteklemek amacıyla ülkede hayata geçirilen Uluslararası Madencilik Konferansı'nın hükümetleri, dev madencilik şirketlerini, finans kuruluşlarını, akademiyi ve teknoloji dünyasını bir araya getiren dünyanın en önemli platformu haline geldiğini belirtti. Mevzuat tarafının yatırımcıların karşılaştığı engelleri aşma ve lisans sürelerini kısaltma imkanı tanıdığını kaydeden Hureyf, "Suudi Arabistan'da bir ilerleme modeli olmayı başardık ve bu deneyimin dünyadaki diğer paydaşlar için de faydalı olacağı konusunda iyimseriz." değerlendirmesinde bulundu. Hureyf, Veliaht Prens Muhammed bin Selman liderliğinde yürütülen Beşeri Kapasiteyi Geliştirme Programı ile eğitim, rehabilitasyon ve yurt dışı eğitim imkanlarının genişletildiğini belirtti. "Geleceğin Fabrikaları" programı ile tesislerin yapay zeka ve dördüncü sanayi devrimine uyumlu hale getirildiğini kaydeden Hureyf, bu dönüşümün özellikle gençler için yeni çalışma kapıları açacağını vurguladı. Suudi Arabistan Vizyonu 2030'un 2026 yılı itibarıyla üçüncü ve son aşamasına girdiğini aktaran Hureyf, bu sürecin ekonomik çeşitliliği zirveye taşıyacağını sözlerine ekledi.
