Sarayı'nda bulunan Dördüncü Ceza Mahkemesi'nde hakim karşısına çıktı. Yoğun güvenlik önlemleri altında gerçekleştirilen duruşmaya Suriye Başsavcısı ve kurban yakınları ile çok sayıda basın mensubu katıldı. Televizyonlardan canlı yayınlanan duruşmada Necib'in, mahkeme salonunda demir korkuluklar ardındaki özel bir bölümde tutulduğu görüldü. Duruşmanın ilerleyen günlerde de devam etmesi bekleniyor. Beşşar Esed'in kuzeni olan Necib, 2008-2011 yıllarında Dera'da Siyasi Güvenlik Şubesi Başkanı olarak görev yapmıştı. Suriye’de devrik rejimin lideri Beşşar Esed ile kardeşi Mahir Esed’in hakkında gıyabi yargılama süreci başkent Şam’da başladı. Şam’daki Adalet Sarayı’nda bulunan Dördüncü Ceza Mahkemesi’nde görülen duruşmada, üst düzey askeri ve güvenlik yetkililerinin isimleri de yer aldı. Duruşmada, Beşşar Esed ve Mahir Esed'in yanı sıra Muhammed Eymen Ayyuş, eski Savunma Bakanı Fahdi Casem el-Freyic, Dera askeri istihbarat başkanı Luay al-Ali, Dera istihbarat şubesi başkanı Fevik Nasır ile komutan Talal Hüseyin’in isimlerinin geçtiği belirtildi. Söz konusu kişilerin tamamının yurt dışına kaçtığı ve bu nedenle haklarında gıyabi yargılama yürütüldüğü, mahkemenin ilgili mevzuat kapsamında haklarında tebligat sürecini başlatacağı aktarıldı. Duruşmaların, Suriye Cumhuriyeti Genel Savcı Yardımcısı Hassan et-Trübe başkanlığında yürütüldüğü bildirildi.
