The Supercoppa Italiana Final between Inter and Lazio will be played ‘before Christmas’, but the venue will only be unveiled during the next Lega Serie A meeting, says President Ezio Maria Simonelli.
Inter and Lazio will meet in the Supercoppa Italiana Final before Christmas, Lega Serie A President Simonelli said on Monday.
“The date will be before Christmas,” Simonelli told Radio Anch’io lo Sport.
“There are hypotheses about the venue that we will reveal at the next Lega Serie A council meeting.”
The format of the Supercoppa Final was altered in the last three seasons to include four Serie A teams in a mini-tournament held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The winners of Serie A and the Coppa Italia, along with their respective runners-up, took part in the Supercoppa in 2023, 2024 and 2025.
The format, however, will switch again from this season, with just two teams involved: Inter, who won both Serie A and the Coppa Italia last season, against Lazio, the runners-up in the domestic cup.
According to Sport Mediaset, the most likely dates for the Supercoppa Italiana Final are Tuesday, December 22, 2026 or the following day, Wednesday, December 23.
The Serie A final round of the year (Week 16) will be played at the weekend of December 19, 2026, with the season resuming two weeks later on January 2, 2027.
