Students evacuated as bomb threat triggers exclusion zone at Cairns State High School

By MATT JONES, SENIOR NEWS REPORTER, AUSTRALIA Published: 01:55, 21 May 2026 | Updated: 01:59, 21 May 2026 Hundreds of students have been moved to a safe location after a bomb threat sparked an emergency evacuation at a school in Far North Queensland.  Queensland Police declared an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act at Cairns State High School at 9.25am on Thursday.  An exclusion zone was formed after reports a threat had been made.  Cairns State High School currently has an enrollment of about 800 students.  No comments have so far been submitted.
