Published: 13:24, 4 June 2026 | Updated: 13:25, 4 June 2026 Stormzy has been fined more than £500 after he was caught using a mobile phone at the wheel of his £400,000 Ferrari. The 32-year-old rapper was banned from driving for nine months in January 2025 for the same offence.  Stormzy was pulled over by the Metropolitan Police last November after he was spotted typing an address into his phone while in stationary traffic close to his home in Kingston upon Thames, south-west London. Appearing at Croydon Magistrates' Court, the Vossi Bop singer pleaded guilty to not having proper control of his vehicle and was fined £533. Magistrate Lynn Keane also ordered him to pay £120 costs and a £213 victim surcharge, and handed him three penalty points on his driving licence. According to court papers, Stormzy - prosecuted under his real name Michael Ebenazer Owuo Junior - was pulled over in his black Ferrari Purosangue at 9.25am on November 10 by PC Glen Lambert. The officer said in a statement that he noticed the driver was 'distracted and no longer in proper control' of the supercar. 'As I passed the vehicle on the offside to filter through traffic I noticed the driver was inputting an address on his maps application on his mobile phone,' PC Lambert said. 'From what I had seen of the vehicle's movements I was satisfied that the standard of driving had fallen below that of a driver in full, careful control of their vehicle.' Stormzy performing in Copenhagen last year. The Vossi Bop singer was pulled over by the Metropolitan Police last November after he was spotted typing an address into his phone while in stationary traffic Stormzy behind the wheel of his £400,000 black Ferrari Purosangue. The rapper was driving the supercar at the time of the incident PC Lambert continued: 'I stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver. The driver confirmed that he had just been setting a route on his maps and that he had only just picked up the device as I passed.' Entering his guilty plea in writing, Stormzy said in mitigation: 'I accept I was putting a location in the map.' The incident happened a month after he had run out of petrol in the same Ferrari on Putney High Street. While waiting for assistance, the rapper staged an impromptu meet-and-greet with fans and posted a video of the incident. Stormzy was given a month to settle the total court bill of £866. This is the second time the music superstar has fallen foul of the law for using his phone at the wheel. In January 2025, Stormzy was banned from driving for nine months after an off-duty police officer caught him on his phone while driving a Rolls-Royce in West Kensington. He was handed a £2,010 court bill after pleading guilty and also admitting a second charge of having overly tinted windows on his car. Previously, he also admitted driving a £200,000 Lamborghini Urus that had front windows illegally tinted to only 4 per cent light transmission, violating the 70 per cent requirement. In that incident, Stormzy was stopped by officers on Coombe Lane, Kingston upon Thames, at about 12.45pm on October 17 2023, having previously been warned about the windows. His prosecution was dealt with by the Single Justice Procedure on May 7, in a private hearing which he was not required to attend. Separate court documents reveal 1,195 motorists have been prosecuted in the last month for either not having proper control of their vehicles or using a mobile phone at the wheel, leading to fines totalling almost £180,000 and 58 driving bans.
