Officers visited a property on Hudsons Road in Spotswood on Friday morning as part of an ongoing investigation. Residents were asked to remain indoors and avoid the area as negotiations continued. The warning applied to residents between Hicks Street and Melbourne Road and between Birmingham Street and The Avenue. Authorities cordoned off a large area of Hudsons Road, near a primary school. The man was then arrested without incident at 10.20am. 'The area is now being cleared and there is no ongoing risk to the community,' Victoria Police said in a statement.
