Spain bars US fighter jets from using its airspace
المصدر: البوابة | Source: البوابةALBAWABA - Spain announced shutting its airspace for American planes involved in the Iran war, AFP reported Monday, citing the country's defence minister.
The Spanish government has closed its airspace to American planes carrying out missions against Iran, and it has banned Washington from using its bases.
"The bases are not authorised, and of course neither is the use of Spanish airspace for actions related to the war in Iran," Minister Margarita Robles told journalists.
The war between Israel, Iran and the United States began when Washington and Tel Aviv launched a preemptive attack against Tehran on Feb. 28, killing many leaders in the Iranian army in addition to the then-supreme leader Ali Khamenei and several members of his family. However, his son, Mojtaba, was elected as the new supreme leader of the country.
In response, Iran launched Operation True Promise 4 tagreting Israel and US assets in the Middle East, including military bases in the Gulf and Jordan.
