He has been remanded in custody and will appear at Staines Magistrates' Court on Monday morning at 10am.  A significant police presence has remained at the scene, just a few miles from Heathrow Airport, throughout Sunday. A statement from the Met read: 'Abdifatah Yusuf Adani, 22, has this evening been charged with one count of attempted murder following a report of a stabbing at the Stanwell Hotel in Stanwell at 6.30pm yesterday evening. 'Adani, a Somalian national, has been remanded in custody and will appear at Staines Magistrates Court tomorrow morning at 10am. 'The victim, a man in his 30s who is a staff worker at the hotel, is now in a stable condition and his injuries are no longer thought to be life threatening. There remains a heightened police presence in the area.' Police rushed to the Stanwell Hotel in west London at around 6.30pm on Saturday evening after reports of a stabbing The government first began using Stanwell Hotel to house individuals and families seeking asylum in 2022. Plans have since been submitted to turn the Stanwell Hotel back into a hotel for business and leisure guests, including passengers using nearby Heathrow Airport. Under the proposals, the building in Town Lane would be modernised and refurbished, with the number of rooms increased from 56 to 96. The plans also include extending the roof of the original building and adding a single-storey extension. Asylum seekers currently staying at the hotel would be expected to move out if the plans are approved by Spelthorne Borough Council, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service. The Home Office has previously said it was committed to ending the use hotels for asylum seekers and is working towards alternative accommodation. Developers said the improvements were intended to 'modernise the hotel and secure its future as part of the village economy'.
