By ASHLEY NICKEL, NEWS REPORTER, AUSTRALIA Published: 14:26, 2 July 2026 | Updated: 14:26, 2 July 2026 A frustrated customer has vowed to boycott Woolworths after noticing their staple 2kg lasagna has been replaced with a 1.5kg size for more than double the price. Jo-Ann shared a series of photos on Thursday calling out Woolworths after visiting a store in Port Stephens, on the NSW Central Coast, and spotting the price jump. 'I'm boycotting Woolworths. I'm so over the games they play, raising prices in the most underhanded way,' she wrote online. 'I went to buy the 2kg lasagne, which is usually priced between $12, on special, and $13.89, regular price. 'There were none on display, so I asked a staff member to bring some more from the freezer. 'Apparently, this product has been discontinued - even though the price ticket was still there. It has been replaced by a 1.5kg lasagne with a price tag of $25.00!' Jo-Ann slammed Woolworths for selling '25 per cent less for double the price'. 'Well Woolworths, you can stick it. I'm done,' she wrote. Woolworths has been called out over what appears to be a textbook example of 'shrinkflation' The old lasagna was 2kg for $13.89 while the new version (above) is 1.5kg for $25 The price per 100g more than doubled in one mark-up, according to the price tags Hundreds of commenters were shocked by the obvious price jump. 'The price is as disgusting as the shelf,' one wrote, joking about the dusty Woolworths fridge. 'Next week it will be on 'special' for $20!' another said. 'Do better Woolworths,' another wrote. Other commenters claimed it'd be cheaper to buy the ingredients to make a lasagna, but one pointed out the product highlighted by Jo-Ann was a convenient option. 'A lot of people have suggested making your own but not all of us are good at cooking. I actually hate it. I've always said I only have a kitchen because it comes with the house,' they wrote.
