Juventus were almost made to pay for wasted opportunities in Frosinone, saved by the woodwork after Guglielmo Vicario’s injury, but Gleison Bremer secured an opening victory.
The Bianconeri started new signings Randal Kolo Muani, Guglielmo Vicario and Zeki Celik, with Douglas Luiz revitalised after loans at Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa, but Federico Gatti and Jeff Ekhator were injured, the defender hurt by a clumsy fan during a pitch invasion.

The Canarini finished second in Serie B last season and started this term beating Juve Stabia 4-1 in the Coppa Italia. Fares Ghedjemi wasn’t even on the bench amid Besiktas transfer pressure, so Seydou Fini started with Giorgi Kvernadze.
See how it all unfolded on the Liveblog.

Juventus wasted two big early chances, as Gleison Bremer turned a free header wide from a Douglas Luiz short corner routine, then Kolo Muani ballooned over from point-blank range.
It was third time lucky, as on another short corner routine, Francisco Conceicao floated in the cross for Bremer’s header from six yards.

Frosinone had a double opportunity, as Giacomo Calò stung Vicario’s gloves and then Kvernadze fired the rebound wide.
Moments later, it was Juve who failed to score, first with Pierre Kalulu’s ferocious strike palmed into the upright, then Lorenzo Palmisani getting back up to make the follow-up save on Yildiz.
Gabriele Calvani made a decisive sliding tackle as Kolo Muani was pulling the trigger, then Conceicao missed another sitter when ballooning over the open goal from a splendid Zeki Celik assist.

It remained open at 1-0 and Fini forced Vicario into a tricky save after a change of pace, while Conceicao skipped away from two to blast inches wide from the edge of the area.
Vicario went down with cramp in the final minute, so was replaced by Mattia Perin for stoppages, probably his last appearance for the club before the likely move to Palermo.
Perin was almost beaten moments later by Calvani’s free header on a corner, as Juventus were rescued by the frame of the goal.
