Sen. Darline Graham reveals whether she will run for a full-term during ‘Hannity’ exclusive

Sen. Darline Graham, R-S.C., the sister of late Sen. Lindsey Graham, told Fox News Channel’s Sean Hannity on Monday that she plans for a full Senate term. 

Darline Graham was sworn into office last week following the sudden death of her brother, becoming the first female senator from the Palmetto State and the first sister of a lawmaker ever appointed to the upper chamber. She sat down with "Hannity" for her first interview since her brother's tragic passing and her appointment to the U.S. Senate. 

Hannity noted that South Carolina law dictates that she will need to decide if she plans to run for a full-term before her brother’s funeral has even taken place, as the filing period for a special primary runs from July 21 to July 28.

"It is a tremendous amount of pressure," Graham told Hannity.

"I have been praying a lot, talking to my family. But with the love of my family, with the support of his staff, I know I’m a hard worker. I learned that from Lindsey," she continued. "He cared about the people of this state. I have worked for almost 30 years for the people of this state." 

Graham then said, "I feel like I can do it. I feel an inner peace about it."

Hannity then pressed Graham on whether she has decided. 

"I’m in," she said. 

The late Lindsey Graham’s communications director said Friday that the senator's "life and legacy" will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 28, in Washington, D.C., and on Wednesday, July 29, in Columbia and Pickens County, South Carolina.

Lindsey Graham died July 11 at age 71.

A statement released by Graham's office on Sunday cited preliminary findings from the District of Columbia's Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, identifying the cause of death as an aortic dissection due to arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease.
