Second School Shooting in Turkiye Leaves At Least Four Dead, 20 Injured

Local governor Mukerrem Unluer told reporters that three students and one teacher died in the shooting in the province of Kahramanmaras.
The perpetrator is an eighth-grade student, who came with five weapons and seven magazines in his bag.
Unluer said he believes that the material belongs to his former police officer father.
The perpetrator entered two classrooms where fifth grade students were.
Four of the wounded students are in critical condition and are undergoing surgery.
Several students jumped from a second storey window at the school amid the shooting, unferified footage show.
The shooting comes just a day when a former student opened fire at school in the southeastern province of Sanliurfa. He wounded at least 16 people, including students and teachers before killing himself.
Authotiies said the situation is an isolated incident and did not require further monitoring in the school.
Such attacks are rare in Turkey, unlike in other countries like the US.
As of April 14 this year, US authorities recorded at least 21 school shootings in the US. Eight shootings were ona college campus while thirteen were on K-12 school grounds.
The shootings left at least 13 people dead and 15 others injured.
