Subscribe to read this story ad-free Get unlimited access to ad-free articles and exclusive content.Aiyuk is accused of engaging in the misdemeanor of “exhibition of speed” on a highway “on or about” Dec. 20, according to a request for an arrest warrant filed in February. The date correlates with when a YouTube video was posted to Aiyuk’s account showing him driving a Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing. He introduces the car in the video as the Cadillac’s answer to Dodge’s Hellcat model before cutting to a clip of someone behind the wheel. Aiyuk’s face is not in the clip but the driver is wearing red sweatpants, which Aiyuk was seen wearing earlier in the video.The digital speedometer is in the frame and shows the vehicle driving as high as 111 mph at one point in the video. Aiyuk posted an apology earlier this year, saying that he would not post car content with speeding in the future. “Was Praying with my son tonight and wouldn’t want anybody else to miss out on an opportunity to do the same with their loved ones!” Aiyuk wrote. “My apologies.” Representatives for Aiyuk and the 49ers did not immediately respond to a request for comment from NBC News on Wednesday.It’s unclear whether the warrant is active.
