ALBAWABA - Russian shipments carrying various sorts of weaponry, drone making materials, and ballistic warheads, are all being shipped to Iran through the Caspian Sea which the two nations share.
It seems the more the U.S. attempts to sanctions and embargo Iran to cut it off from the world, the more Russia and China supply it through the Caspian Sea and overland respectively.
The materials shipped by the Russians will allow the Iranians to somewhat effectively rearm their depleted arsenal; particularly in drones and ballistic missiles.
According to reports, more than 20 Russian ships have crossed the sea to dock and unload at Amirabad Port on the Iranian side of the Caspian; in an attempt to stop this rearming route for the Iranians, Israel bombed nearby port Bandar-e Anzali in March of 2026.
The shipments reflect the symbiotic relationship between Moscow and Tehran, as the latter provides the former with the famous Shahed drones which are used extensively in the Ukraine war, while the former provides weaponry and building materials for ballistic missiles.
Russia denies the existence of this relationship, however, with one Russian official replying “we do not respond to fake news” when asked to comment, while U.S. President Trump said that Russian counterpart Putin explicitly told him that he is not selling weapons to Iran.
