By ASHLEY NICKEL, NEWS REPORTER, AUSTRALIA Published: 09:50, 10 June 2026 | Updated: 09:52, 10 June 2026 Furious shoppers have lashed out at a young girl for riding an e-bike through a busy Coles grocery store, while others have defended her carefree attitude. The girl, who appeared to be a teenager, was seen weaving through the aisles of Coles Waterloo, inner-Sydney, on Tuesday afternoon. She yelled out to the person behind the camera, 'Why are you recording me?' in the now-viral footage. The girl appeared excited while riding down the health and beauty aisles, dodging customers along the way. Staff reportedly intervened soon after the video ended and the girl and her friends were escorted from the store.  Coles confirmed it is aware of the incident and is conducting an internal investigation. The grocer said the safety of its staff and team remain its top priority. 'We are aware of an incident at our Waterloo store yesterday afternoon involving individuals riding a bicycle inside the supermarket,' a spokesperson said. Fed-up Aussies have lashed out at a teenage girl (above) for riding an e-bike through a busy Coles 'Bicycles are not permitted inside Coles stores, and we do not tolerate behaviour that compromises the safety of our customers or team members.' It is illegal to ride e-bikes inside commercial buildings in NSW and illegal e-bike use can result in heavy fines up to $818. Lime bikes does not permit riders under 18 years old to use its e-bikes in Sydney. The recorded girl's age is unclear.  Daily Mail has contacted NSW Police and Lime Micromobility for comment. Dozens of commenters under the video called for police to track down and fine the teen. Many said they were tired of repeated e-bike incidents and anti-social behaviour from teenagers. 'These teenagers must be disciplined. I keep seeing such videos all over,' one wrote. The teenager and her friend were asked to leave Coles Waterloo (above) after nearly running into customers 'This is very unacceptable. We all have a responsibility as parents to teach our kids to be kind at all times and everywhere.  'We weren't angels in our teens, but we certainly never disturbed people!' Others said the video made them 'angry' with one claiming 'there is no respect in society anymore'. However, other commenters said the clip was classic 'Aussie culture' and summed up the video as two kids having harmless fun. 'They're living the life we all wish we could,' one wrote.
