Roony Bardghji Pushes for More Minutes at FC Barcelona
Rabat – Barcelona’s Roony Bardghji expressed his honest dissatisfaction over the limited playtime at Barcelona this season in a recent interview with Sverige Television, according to Marca.
The Swedish international joined Barcelona this summer from FC Copenhagen with a deal that will see him playing with the Catalan side until June 2029.
Since his arrival, the young talent has been used as a substitute most of the games, with only four starts in La Liga 2025/2026 season.
He has a made a total of 22 appearances for FC Barcelona in his debut season, scoring 2 goals and providing 4 assists across all competitions
“The truth is that up until now I’ve had very little playing time. I’m patient, but honestly, I think I deserve to play more” he said in an interview with Sverige Television.
When asked if he was satisfied with his narrow playtime this season, Rooney responded: “No. I’m not 100% happy, but that’s football. I have the utmost respect for those who have been in the squad for a long time; they’re my teammates. I know what I can do, and I have a lot of confidence in myself.”
“It’s always been my dream to play for Barça. When I won my first trophy, it was fantastic, a great feeling,” he added.
Roony’s first trophy with Barcelona was the Spanish Super Cup in 2026, where he played a key role in the semifinal against Athletic Club, scoring a goal and providing two assists in a 5–0 victory.
