West Midlands Police has found itself in yet another "two-tier justice" row after videos circulating on social media appeared to show a white man being arrested despite being assaulted by a group of black men.

In a video posted on X, a white man can be seen being arrested following a physical altercation with a group of black men.

Prior to the arrest, the white man is seemingly pushed to group by one individual, while another tries to punch him in the back of the head.

Before the man can get up, a female police officer pushes him into a shop's shutters.

He swings his arms at the officer, appearing to strike her in the head.

West Midlands Police confirmed one man had been arrested on June 21 at 1.30am and charged with assaulting a police officer.

Cody Harper, 20, is due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court on July 23.

Reform UK's Treasury spokesman Robert Jenrick told GB News the public have "had enough of two-tier policing".

He said: "If there’s additional footage that explains why the officer acted as she did it should be shared immediately to clear things up. Otherwise the public will rightly question the clear unequal treatment by the police.

"The police have lost the benefit of the doubt in the eyes of many.

"They’ve had enough of two-tier policing. Reform UK is the only party consistently calling this nonsense out and has the people to fix it."

Britain's second-largest police force is resisting calls to release the full footage of the incident.

It initially said it had reviewed the incident and stood by the officer's actions, saying: "We have no concerns over the officer’s actions and we are satisfied that they were reasonable and proportionate in the circumstances."

Zia Yusuf, Reform's Home Affairs spokesman, said "enough is enough" in response to West Midlands Police's statement.

Posting on X today, he said: "If you are a white person in Britain and you get assaulted by ethnic minority men: The police watch on and wait until you are on the floor before moving in to arrest you.

"The police make no attempt to arrest your assailants, letting them run off without consequence. The police call you a 'd**k'. The police hit your head against the police car.

"The police then put a statement out claiming they are satisfied with the conduct of the officers. The police demand the footage proving their statement to be false not be shared. All because the Police ‘Race Action Plan’ demands officers do not 'over police' black people.

"ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. The Tories introduced these disgusting programmes to force police to be institutionally racist against white people.

"Labour continues them. Reform will ABOLISH all Race Action Plans and ensure EVERYONE IS TREATED EQUALLY."

West Midlands police today admitted an assault took place and an investigation was ongoing to "identify those involved".

A spokesman said: "We are carrying out an investigation to identify people involved in an assault in Birmingham city centre.

"At around 1.30am on Sunday 21 June, officers were on Broad Street where they arrested a 20-year-old man who has since been charged with assaulting a police officer.

"We are aware of footage on social media showing the incident before the man is arrested.

"Recognising that an assault has taken place we are now carrying out active enquiries to identify those involved.

"Although officers were in the area when this assault took place, they were involved in the arrest of another man at the time.

"Anyone who witnessed the assault is asked to get in touch with us."
