Doug Band, who appeared for a closed-door interview with the House Oversight Committee last month, was peppered with questions about the 'embarrassing' trove of emails he exchanged with Maxwell during the 2000s - including one where she described him being ‘hung like a horse.' In other toe-curling emails that were read out by members of the panel, Maxwell - who is serving 20 years in prison for trafficking children to the late pedophile - offered to arrange a ‘slutty Spanish girl’ for him and described herself as Band's ‘pimp’ and ‘lover’.  During his June 30 testimony, Band, 53, admitted flirting with the convicted sex trafficker but strongly denied ever having an affair with her, according to a transcript of his testimony obtained by the Daily Mail. ‘Absolutely not, never’, Band told the panel in the first of many denials of an affair of any kind. Still, Band, who worked as Clinton’s ‘body man’ during his presidency, admitted the decades-old emails he exchanged with Maxwell - including her giving him nicknames like ‘baby cakes’ - were ‘embarrassing’.  ‘They were just silly, flirtatious banter and my poor attempts at humor,' he said, according to the transcript.  That didn’t stop the committee, though, from peppering Band about specific emails, which would likely have made him wince.  Doug Band, who was Bill Clinton’s former top aide, underwent a humiliating grilling before Congress last month about his once flirtatious friendship with Jeffrey Epstein's madam Ghislaine Maxwell. Maxwell replied back to Band: ‘Ok sounds good to me - I think the 3 of us make a good team - you can cogitate on your female woes and I can give you the down and dirty on that - and I am happy contemplating how lucky I am being with my 2 favorite men!’  Band, for his part, told lawmakers that he had ‘no idea’ about the email and didn’t know what a ‘burgerfest’ meant.  The committee turned to an October 2004 email in which Maxwell called Band ‘babycakes’ and ‘booboo’.  He said that it was an example of ‘flirtatious’ emails they exchanged but didn’t remember anything more about the context.  Next, Band was asked about an April 2002 email he sent to Maxwell that read: ‘By the way, the social matchmaker part is pretty right on... I would have told them that you are my pimp but that at the same time, you are my lover’.  Band, who helped rebuild Clinton's image in his post presidency following the Monica Lewinsky scandal, served as his chief advisor from 2002 to 2011 In addition to being Clinton's 'body man,' Band continued as an aide after they both left the White House in 2001. They are pictured together in the Oval Office during Clinton's presidency When Band stonewalled, a furious Rep Nancy Mace asked him if his lawyers had advised him to say he didn’t recall if there was something he didn’t want to talk about.  ‘Is that what they teach you in law school, tell your clients you do not recall when you don't want to talk about something?’ she said.  After Band said he didn't recall the email, Mace pressed him on an August 2002 email in which he told Maxwell he wanted to ‘spank bottoms tonight.’ ‘Is spanking a fetish of yours or hers?’ Mace asked, before Band said he didn't remember anything about the message.  He responded: ‘I did not have a physical, romantic, or any relationship with her other than a friendship in any way whatsoever, ever’.  In another email read out by the committee, Maxwell offered to arrange ‘the s****y Spanish girl’ next time Band was in New York, along with a ‘cool poised Swedish type’.  ‘Let me know when you next go to Europe as I do have some interesting and fun friends that you could hook up with,’ Maxwell told Band, according to the email. In another email from April 2002 where Maxwell told Band he was well endowed and a ‘super stud’, the disgraced socialite wrote: ‘I have a crush on you and you are hung like a horse’. Mace replied: ‘Why would she say you're hung like a horse if you didn't have a sexual relationship with her in an email that she wrote to you? Why would she say that?’ Band replied: ‘You'd have to ask her. I don't know’. In addition to being Clinton's 'body man,' Band continued as an aide after they both left the White House in 2001. In 2012, Band - a founding partner of Teneo - split from Clinton amid tension with his daughter Chelsea and in 2020 took part in a scathing Vanity Fair article about his former boss. Maxwell and Clinton’s friendship dates back to the 1990s when she and Epstein first made contact with him during his presidency. White House visitor logs unearthed by the Daily Mail show that Epstein visited the White House 17 times while Clinton was in office, bringing Maxwell with him on some of those trips. That included a 1993 visit where both were greeted warmly by Clinton in the East Room during a lavish reception for donors. On the trips on Epstein's plane where Clinton was present, the former president would go to the back and meet with the pedophile privately in his office, according to Band.  Clinton, for his part, has long denied knowing anything about Epstein's depravity.  'I saw nothing, I did nothing wrong,' the ex-president said when he testified before the House Oversight Committee in February.  Photos of Clinton, including some of him posing with Epstein, are among the millions of Epstein files released by the Department of Justice over the past year.  'I had no idea of the crimes Epstein was committing,' Clinton told lawmakers.  'No matter how many photos you show me, I have two things that at the end of the day matter more than your interpretation of those 20-year-old photos. I know what I saw, and more importantly, what I didn't see. 'I know what I did, and more importantly, what I didn't do. I saw nothing, and I did nothing wrong.'
