Restaurant pays tribute as popular staff member dies suddenly

Tributes have been paid to a man who has been remembered by friends and colleagues as the "most gentle soul" following the confirmation of his death. Gwent Police issued an appeal on May 12 for help locating 26-year-old Callum Harris who was last seen in Cambrian Road in Newport at around 10.25am on Friday, May 8. Three weeks later, on May 31, a body was discovered inside a building in Chepstow Road, Newport, and identified as Mr Harris. Moving tributes have been shared across social media by those who knew and worked alongside him. One such message was made by Creates, a bistro and boutique B&B in Monmouth, where Mr Harris worked. Colleagues described Mr Harris as a young man whose kindness and talent left a lasting impression despite the short time they had spent working alongside him. While Mr Harris had not been part of the team for long they said he quickly became much more than a colleague. Remembered for bringing "the kindest energy" into the workplace they said his gentle nature, combined with his "endless talent", made him an absolute pleasure to work with and someone whose presence would not be forgotten. Reflecting on the impact he had on those around him they added: "He quickly became much more than a colleague, he became a true friend to us all. "You were one of the good ones Callum." The tribute concluded with a message of support for his loved ones asking people to keep Callum's family in their thoughts during what they described as an incredibly difficult time. The full statement reads: "We are so deeply saddened to hear that our colleague and friend, Callum, has passed away.. this was not the news every single one of us was praying for.. "Although he hadn't worked with us for long, Callum made a lasting impression on all of us. "He was an absolute pleasure to work alongside – always bringing the kindest energy and a gentle soul to the team, with such endless talent. "He quickly became much more than a colleague, he became a true friend to us all! You were one of the good ones Callum.
