Sergiye ilişkin AA muhabirine değerlendirmelerde bulunan Yücel, zaman içinde kendine özgü bir tarz oluşturduğunu belirterek, eserlerinde kadın figürünü merkeze aldığını söyledi. Yücel, kadınların evine, işine ve çocuğuna bölünmüşlüğünün bir parçalanmışlık olmadığını, bu bölünmüşlüğün tamamen bir birleşme ve bütünlük olduğunu, bu bütünlükte kadınların dimdik ve rengarenk güzellikleriyle yer aldığını belirtti. Eserlerindeki kadın figürlerinde yüzlere yer vermediğini, bunun geçmişten geleceğe tüm kadınları temsil ettiğini ifade eden Yücel, resimlerindeki arka planda ise gerçekçi unsurlara ve objelere yer verdiğini anlattı. Yücel, sergisine "Yediveren Kadınlar" adını vermesinin nedenine ilişkin şunları kaydetti: "Kadınlar çiçek gibidir. Kadınlar da koptuğu, kırıldığı yerden bütünleşebilen, yediverenler gibi sürekli açabilen kişilerdir. Kadınlar, çocukları doğuran anneler, eşler, kız kardeşler ve kızlardır. Dolayısıyla onların toplumsal kimliğine de atıfta bulunuyorum. Kadınların güçlü olması gerektiğine inanıyorum. Dünyayı güzelleştirecek olanlar kadınlardır. Çocuklar, güçlü bir annenin elinde adeta bir heykeltıraş gibi bambaşka bir şekle bürünebilir. Kadınların toplumdaki bu yönüne de çok önem veriyorum."
