The film does not feature established characters from the “Resident Evil” universe such as Leon S. Kennedy or Jill Valentine, as Cregger aimed to create a new and original story. The plot will introduce a new protagonist—a courier delivering a package—who finds himself in the middle of a Raccoon City outbreak. The original “Resident Evil” was released as a PlayStation game in 1994, but was later made available on several different consoles. There have been more than a dozen sequels and remakes of the games, including this year’s “Resident Evil Requiem.” Related Stories Netflix Co-CEOs Ted Sarandos, Greg Peters See Pay Packages Drop in 2025
