Atalanta have offered €30m to Bologna for Jonathan Rowe, claim Sky Sport Italia, but the proposal was rejected after Aston Villa interest.
La Dea realised after the 0-0 first leg Conference League play-off draw with Hapoel Tel-Aviv that they need reinforcements for new coach Maurizio Sarri.
They already announced one new arrival today, securing Eljif Elmas on loan with option to buy from RB Leipzig.
Atalanta turn to Rowe

According to Sky Sport Italia transfer pundit Gianluca Di Marzio, another bid was sent to Bologna for winger Rowe.
It is a package worth at least €30m, but was insufficient to even get the Rossoblu to the table.
Bologna are adamant they will not be selling Rowe this summer, just a year on from his Olympique Marseille transfer, as they already lost Santiago Castro to Roma.
They paid €17m plus bonus and a 10 per cent resale clause to bring Rowe in from Marseille last season, and he made a big impression with eight goals and five assists in 43 competitive appearances.
