Reds' Emilio Pagán carted off the field after just one pitch in 9th inning

CHICAGO — Cincinnati Reds closer Emilio Pagán was carted off the field after his first pitch in the ninth inning against the Cubs at Wrigley Field on Tuesday night.Pagán came into the tie game in the ninth to face Cubs leadoff man Nico Hoerner. After his first pitch he immediately grabbed at the back of his right leg and hopped around before falling to the ground. Athletic trainers rushed to his side and called for a cart to help him off the field.The 34-year-old blew a save in Monday’s 5-4 loss to the Cubs, allowing a leadoff triple and walk-off home run. Entering Tuesday, he was 2-1 with a 6.43 ERA and six saves this season. Pagán re-signed with the Reds over the winter, inking a two-year deal worth $20 million.This story will be updated.
