Upon arrival, police found a man barricaded inside the house, the department said. He was immediately detained. Further investigation led officers to an unresponsive elderly woman also inside the house. She was pronounced dead on the scene. Ciarre Campbell, Calais Campbell’s brother, was taken into custody, police said. It was not immediately clear whether Ciarre was living with their mother at the time of his death. Booking records show he is being held on two charges of murder, one count of aggravated assault and one charge of possession of a knife or firearm. Police say the investigation into the circumstances of her death is ongoing.“We are incredibly saddened to learn about the passing of Calais Campbell’s mother,” a Ravens spokesperson said in a statement. “We extend our deepest condolences and full support to Calais and his family during this difficult time.” The team asked that everyone respect’s the family’s privacy “while they grieve from this heartbreaking loss.”Calais Campbell played college football at the University of Miami, and was drafted to the NFL in the second round in 2008.
