ALBAWABA - Anger and demonstrations hit Nepal's streets after the alleged rape and killing of a 3-year-old girl, calling on the government to impose extra tough laws against such crimes.
A little girl was identified as Garima Chaudhary, who went missing in Madhesh province before her body was found last week, triggering massive protests after the investigation found she was raped and killed, BBC reproted.
Chaudhary is from Jitpur Simara Sub-metropolitan City-1 in Bara district. According to sources, the police have arrested nine people with links to the case of the 3-year-old girl.
According to activists, Garima, the daughter of Manoj Chaudhary and Manmati Chaudhary, had been missing since around 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 16. Her family and police launched a probe into her disappearance, and she was found dead inside an abandoned house.
After days of protests in Simara city, the victim's family held talks with government officials and they reached an agreement over the weekend after the government vowed to review laws on serious offences and set a memorial in honour of the little girl.

Participants further urged changes to laws concerning rape and sexual violence and demanded severe punishment for perpetrators.
