Prince Harry 'feeling buoyed' after Meghan, Archie and Lilibet's meeting with King Charles

Prince Harry is said to be feeling "buoyed" and "really energised" following a significant family gathering with King Charles at Highgrove last Friday.

The Duke of Sussex spent over an hour with his father and stepmother Queen Camilla, accompanied by his wife Meghan and their children Archie and Lilibet.

Friends of the duke, according to the Daily Mail, described him as "very happy" that his family could join him during his UK visit.

Despite originally planning to join their father on his landmark trip, it was revealed just days before Harry was set to jet over that they would not join him in London amid the prince's ongoing dispute with the Government regarding taxpayer-funded police protection.

However, the Sussexes did travel for the brief meeting with the King at Highgrove, which took place between approximately 3.30pm and 4pm on Friday. The family remained for roughly an hour.

The reunion represented a notable moment of reconciliation during what had otherwise been a challenging week for Harry, who suffered defeat in his High Court privacy case against Associated Newspapers.

In response to the decision, the prince bemoaned that "the lengths to which the Court has gone to exonerate the Mail is as shocking as it is totally unwarranted."

Friday was the first occasion in four years that the 77-year-old monarch, who continues to receive cancer treatment, had seen his grandchildren in person.

A royal source defended the decision to meet despite criticism in some quarters, stating simply: "Blood is blood."

"Every journey of a thousand miles begins with one footstep," the source added.

Meghan had secretly flown the family to Britain, though she did not attend any of Harry's Invictus Games engagements, where Harry played wheelchair rugby, pickleball and Laser Run.

The day after the meeting, Harry travelled to Warwickshire and joined approximately 200 youngsters and their families at the Scotty's Little Soldiers summer festival.

However, it was reported that before leaving, he was spotted leaving Althorp House, the Northamptonshire estate where his mother, Princess Diana, rests on a secluded island.

The Duke of Sussex, 41, had expressed his wish to bring his wife, Meghan Markle, 44, and their children Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, to visit Diana's final resting place. While Meghan has visited once before, neither of his young children has made the trip.

But as he made his 40-mile journey to Maxstoke Castle for his final engagement, he could not have fathomed the chaos that would ensue.

Taking part in a session of goat yoga, where one animal stepped rather unfortunately onto a rather sensitive area, he was subjected to a thorough soaking as he was pelted with water balloons by eager children.

Harry then concluded his last UK engagement with a question-and-answer session in a marquee with children who had lost a parent in military service.

Nine-year-old Poppy enquired what brought him joy on difficult days, prompting the Duke to pat his heart and acknowledge the question had touched him deeply.

"My dog makes me laugh, my children make me laugh," he shared, adding that sometimes laughter simply is not possible on hard days.

Exactly when the duke left the UK has not been confirmed.
