League upset predictions for Gameweek 37Callum Wilson has been a goal threat in West Ham's fight to survive Warren Little/Getty Images Share articleThe finish line of the 2025-26 Premier League season is approaching. Arsenal are edging closer to their first title since the Arsene Wenger era, while the scope of the relegation battle has narrowed to the point of Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham scrapping against each other for survival. With some teams on the metaphorical beach and others preparing for European finals, there could be even more scope for upsets than is usually the case in the final stages. With a place in the top five secured and Champions League qualification confirmed, Manchester United produced an underwhelming performance away to Sunderland at the Stadium of Light last weekend. Michael Carrick handed first-team opportunities to Amad Diallo, Mason Mount and Joshua Zirkzee, perhaps with a view to making a judgement on their future ahead of the summer transfer window. Forest will arrive at Old Trafford this weekend on the back of an eight-game unbeaten run in the league. Vitor Pereira’s side have also won their past three away games in the Premier League. Their style of play suits playing on the road. The end-of-season vibes might be strong at Old Trafford on Sunday but this could result in a surprise outcome. Forest might have endured a challenging campaign, but they are finishing strongly in the league. Leeds United can start planning for another season in the Premier League after West Ham’s defeat to Arsenal made it impossible for Daniel Farke’s side to drop into the bottom three. Monday’s draw against Tottenham extended their unbeaten run in the league to seven games, with the Elland Road outfit victorious in their past two outings in front of their own supporters. Brighton are still chasing European football. Sixth place could be enough to qualify for next season’s Champions League, if Aston Villa end up winning the Europa League, and the Seagulls are firmly in the equation. Fabian Hurzeler’s side, however, are without a win in their last two away games. Brighton need three points to stay within touching distance of Bournemouth above them, but Elland Road might not be a happy hunting ground for the visitors. The Seagulls comfortably beat Leeds 3-0 in their first league meeting of the season. However, a lot has changed since then for Leeds, who found their groove following a tactical shift by Farke in late-November. Ultimately, Leeds might not have much motivation now that they are safe, but Farke’s team have the attacking threat in quick transition to cause Brighton problems. If West Ham are to stand any realistic chance of avoiding relegation to the Championship, they require a positive result away to Newcastle United on Sunday. While the Hammers have lost their past two games against Brentford and Arsenal, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side were unfortunate not to come away with anything, particularly against the latter who were hanging on towards the end. Away to a Newcastle team that has won just one of their last six league matches and has little to play for at this stage of a disappointing season, there could be an opportunity for West Ham to cause an upset. West Ham beat them 3-1 in their first league meeting of the season, giving Nuno’s side hope that they can repeat the trick on Tyneside this weekend. Even if Newcastle take the lead on Sunday, the Hammers should keep in mind that Eddie Howe’s side have dropped an incredible 27 points from winning positions this season, more than any other in the Premier League. Jarrod Bowen and Taty Castellanos have the attacking threat to pose Newcastle a problem while Mateus Fernandes continues to impress in midfield. A West Ham win could be on the cards.
