Police launch two-day crackdown on bad behaviour in Swansea city centre

Under Section 35 of the Anti-Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014, officers from South Wales Police can direct anyone who is causing, or is likely to cause, harassment, alarm, or distress to leave the specified area. Action has been taken in a bid to curb anti-social behaviour involving children aged between 10 and 17. Police Sergeant Molly Llewellyn stated: “We do not tolerate anti-social behaviour. Our officers will have an increased presence in the area, and they won’t hesitate to utilise the powers granted to them to ensure the safety of our community. “We encourage parents and guardians to talk to those they care for, urging them to steer clear of any involvement in anti-social activities.” If members of the public have any concerns about anti-social behaviour in their area, they can contact South Wales Police online or by calling 101.
